FAQs About Autism Services in McKinney
Do we need a diagnosis to start ABA?
Yes. Your child will need an official ASD diagnosis by a qualified psychologist, a developmental pediatrician or neurologist within the last 36 months to qualify for ABA services through your insurance. Diagnosis or testing acquired at school will not count.
How soon can therapy begin after the assessment?
It will take our Behavior Analyst 3-5 busincess days to complete the report. Once you are signed off on it , it will be submitted to your insurance. They have up to 15 business days to respond. Once we recieve approval from insurance we will work with your schedule to get you started.
What does a typical week look like?
Your Behavior Analyst will recommend a schedule based on your child’s needs and programs. The therapy will be provided in 1:1 sessions with a new therapist every 2-3 hours. They will work on your child’s individual goals while also working on communication, social, life skills, and much more throughout the day.
How are parents involved?
Parents are an integral part of therapy. The more collaboration we can get with the parent’s the more successful the therapy will be. We require at least 1 parent training session per week.
How will we know it’s working?
We review data and progress with you regularly and adjust goals to keep growth moving in the right direction.
